When ordering rain jackets, it’s important to note that they are usually designed to focus on providing protection from the rain. A jacket as affordable and waterproof as the Evapouration Jacket 3 saves money by cutting down on the lining. The jacket is comfortable, but it isn’t particularly warm. If you want to stay warm and dry, you can always order a size up and wear this jacket over something warmer.

If you only look at one jacket, you should definitely check out the Evapouration Jacket 3. It’s a high quality a jacket that comes loaded with all of the features you could want in a rain coat.

The North Face Men’s Venture Jacket

North Face is another leading outdoor apparel brand. These days their products are in demand because of their style and brand name, but they still make products to appeal to the most hardened hikers and mountaineers. This shows in their Venture Jacket, which will keep you completely dry even when the water is pouring down. The jacket is made from recycled nylon ripstop, which means that it is both sturdy and eco-friendly. That sums up the North Face ethos.

The North Face Men's Venture Jacket

If you’re worried about overheating in your jacket, North Face has just what the doctor ordered. The fit is quite nice overall. One thing to note is that the hood is a little smaller than you’ll find on most jackets, which is great for people with smaller heads. There are zips under the armpit that you can pull down to vent the jacket and bring in fresh air while minimizing exposure to the elements. You can also get air flowing by unzipping the pockets and loosening the elastic on the hoodie. They are small details, but they can make you feel more comfortable.

One thing that sets the Venture Jacket apart from its competition is the two-toned color scheme. With this jacket, you don’t have to settle for just one color, and with literally dozens of color schemes to choose from you’re bound to find an option suited to your tastes. Anyone concerned with fashion will appreciate all these possibilities when you compare the Venture Jacket with the other drab options that dominate the market.

North Face makes products for people who care about the environment. Their chosen materials and construction process are both designed to be as eco-friendly as possible. So, if you choose to by North Face’s Venture Jacket, you’ll be protecting the environment as you protect yourself from the environment.

Helly Hansen Men’s Voss Rain Jacket

This jacket is made for serious protection. It’s not just for casual drizzles; it’s become a best-seller around the world because fisherman and sailors rely on this jacket to keep them safe out on the open sea. The jacket is made from waterproof polyurethane and held together with laminated knit backing and micro-welded seams. These construction techniques ensure that water can’t invade through the seams like it can with cheaper jackets.

Helly Hansen Men's Voss Rain Jacket

For extra protection, there are storm flaps and adjustable snap cuffs built into the jacket. This allows you to close down the jacket as tightly and securely as possible when the rain starts pouring down. Since it’s adjustable, you can use this jacket comfortably whether it’s raining or not. The hood can be securely stored when it’s shining out without the added bulk that comes with other options.

In the style department, the jacket comes in four colors. The different options are black, blue, red, and yellow. You’re not just going to be dry in this jacket; you’ll also be stylish. The only real downside is that the sizing can be a little strange, you should probably order a size up. You should also realize that this is specifically designed as a rain jacket, it’s pretty thin, so it won’t keep you particularly warm. It’s made to do one job, and it does it well.

You might not have heard of Helly Hansen before, but they’re not new on the scene. They have been clothing people from all walks of life for over 130 years. Their garments aren’t just backed up by the company’s reputation; all Helley Hansen products are covered by a one year warranty. If you buy this jacket and it suffers from factory defects, you will get it repaired or replaced, free of charge.

Conclusion – Choosing the Best Rain Jacket under $100

Before you make a purchase take some time to look over each of the three options. Buying a rain jacket isn’t just about keeping the rain out, though that’s very important. You also deserve a jacket that fits your style. Each of the three jackets we’ve recommended will keep you dry, but no two look exactly the same. So, as you prepare to make your purchase consider which speaks to your unique, personal style.

Best Camping Stove under $50 – My Top 3 Choices

There’s nothing like getting out of the house and heading out into the wild. Camping should be a part of everyone’s year; we weren’t built to spend all of our time in cities. But just because you’re headed out into nature it doesn’t mean that you can’t take some creature comforts with you.

Thanks to modern camping stoves you can eat better in the woods than you might at most of your local restaurants. And thanks to advances in manufacturing camping stoves are cheaper than ever. To help you pick from the wide selection available we’ll look at the three best options on the market today.

1. Coleman Classic Propane Stove

This is a product that lives up to its name; stoves don’t get any more classic than these. Every year millions of campers turn to their Coleman propane stove for delicious food in the great outdoors. This portable green stove has a simple and elegant design. To start cooking you simply place the stove on a flat surface and unfold it. The design has Wind Block™ panels that run along the back and sides to keep the wind from causing you issues with your cooking. The side panels are adjustable, so you can even use oversized pans that couldn’t fit inside the constraints of other stoves.

Best Camping Stove under $50 - Coleman Classic Propane Stove

This stove might be sold at a low price, but it packs quite a punch. The stove has not one, but two 10,000 BTU burners. With a burner turned on high you can get water boiling in less than five minutes. The two burners operate independently, so you can set one on high for cooking and the next on low to keep food warm. Or you can cook on one while you leave the other off to save on propane. The stove is 23 1/4 inches wide and 14 3/4 inches deep. It can fit two 11 inch pans or one 10 inch pan and another 1-inch pan.

Coleman has been making camping supplies for over 100 years now, and they’ve survived thanks to the dependability of their products. This stove is a true classic, tried and true even years after its first release. It should be noted that the stove lacks some extras like a built-in lighter or propane bottle storage compartment. Still, given the price, power, and dependability of the Coleman Classic Propane Stove, it is still our number one recommendation.

2. Etekcity Ultralight Portable Outdoor Backpacking Camping Stove with Piezo Ignition

There are plenty of large and fancy store that will let you cook just about any dish in the middle of the woods. But in some cases, this can be overkill. For example, we love the Coleman Classic Propane Stove, but it isn’t a stove you want to load up into your backpack for a hiking trip. If you want to pack as lightly as possible an option like the Etekcity Ultralight Mini Outdoor Backpacking Camping Stove is the way to go. These aluminum stoves are just over half a pound each.

Etekcity Ultralight Portable Outdoor Backpacking Camping Stove

The stove has a built in lighter to ensure that the flame lights quickly every time, no need to bring along matches or a lighter. It might be small, but it can give you over 6,600 BTU of heat. Whether you need all that power or not this stove has you covered, the built-in flame control allows you to adjust the flame to achieve the perfect temperature for whatever task might be at hand. Elekcity is confident in their products ability, which is why they cover it with a 1-year warranty.

One thing to remember is that while the stove itself is absolutely tiny, it’s just one of the things you will need to cook properly. You will also need to pack a bottle of butane to power the flame. You’ll also likely need a pan or dish to cook in, though some people put cans directly above the stove to cook the contents in their container.

If you want the ultimate portable stove, this is the option for you. It isn’t just small; it collapses to save as much space as possible. To ensure that you can transport it safely it comes with a carrying case. And the great thing about this particular deal is that you get two stoves for the price of one! Keep one as a backup or give one to your camping partner, so you don’t have to share the same stove.

3. Coleman Butane Stove

We’ve looked at one relatively large stove and one of the smallest stoves possible, so let’s end with a look at something in the middle. This from Coleman is reminiscent of their Classic Propane Stove, but it’s less than half the stove. It only has one burner, which is perfect for camping by yourself or with one other person. No need to carry around excess burners when you’ve only got so much room in your packs.

Coleman Butane Stove

The stove is 20 inches long, 12 inches wide, 4 inches deep, and weighs in at 4.7 pounds. The stove can heat up an entire 10-inch pan. Larger dishes will fit on top of it, but they won’t be heated as evenly. The burner can provide up to 7,650 BTU of heat, which is less than the Coleman Classic but more than the Etekcity Ultralight. One advantage this stove has over the Coleman Classic is its Instastart automatic ignition system; you don’t need to provide your own flame to start cooking with this stove.

The stove comes with a carrying case for safe and convenient transportation. At Setting this little machine up, putting it to use, and packing it away is as easy as possible. Once it’s working, you can cook a sausage breakfast or brew coffee in 20 minutes or less. It’s a great balance of power, portability, and durability that is perfect for single campers.

Conclusion – The Best Camping Stove under $500

Each of these three stoves are designed to serve campers with specific needs. If you’re camping with a large group and plan on cooking up to two dishes at once, then the Coleman Classic is the way to go. If you are camping on your own, but you’re not planning on hiking far from your car, then the Coleman Butane Stove is everything you need and nothing you don’t. Finally, hikers who want to pack as light as possible will find that the Etekcity Ultralight Portable Outdoor Backpacking Camping Stove offers the most power per pound on the market. Take a moment to think about what you need your stove for. If you know what sort of trip you’ll use your new stove on then, it’s simple to choose the right model.

Coleman Palmetto Cool Weather Sleeping Bag

Anyone looking for a more traditional sleeping bag will find what they’re looking for with the Palmetto from Coleman which is why it’s my first choice for the best budget sleeping bag under $100. So, while you can use this bag in freezing temperatures, it’s worth remembering that this is a cool weather bag, it’s not built for the depths of winter. But that goes for most budget sleeping bags, and when you compare the Palmetto to other bags in its price range, you’ll find this bag does quite well.

This is a comfortable bag. It has a polyester outer layer, a wool liner, and three pounds of insulation to keep you nice and toasty when the sun goes down. It’s not a heavy-duty bag by any means, but it will get the job done in most situations. Simply put, it’s all you could ask for from a budget sleeping bag.

Ohuhu Double Sleeping Bag

Most sleeping bags are made for one person. This might suit the single camper, but it can be disappointing to couples that want a romantic getaway in nature. That’s why this sleeping bag from Ohuhu was created. Now couples can share one sleeping bag.

Ohuhu Double Sleeping Bag

If that wasn’t enough this design has another twist, the bag can be separated into two different bags. When the two halves are combined bag is At 6 pounds this bag is heavier than most bags but that’s to be expected, this bag is twice the size of most competitors. This ingenious design means that parents can confidently buy the bag to sleep with their young child. When the child grows up they can get their own bag without the cost of purchasing a new one. It’s a highly flexible design that is great for a wide range of circumstances.

This bag has a temperature rating of 23 degrees Fahrenheit. Once again, you’ll still be cold in temperatures that low, but you’ll be a warmer than you would without this bag protecting you. The bag comes with two pillows and a carrying bag that is designed to fit the sleeping bag and its pillows. The pillows are a nice addition, but you should note that they are a little on the small side. If you want more support and comfort, you should bring your own pillows, but you can’t argue with free. The pillows and the bag itself are all designed to fit into the included carrying bag, which is designed to make transporting the bag as easy as possible. If you pack the bag properly and fully compress it, you’ll find that it all fits in a 13-inch long cylinder of space.

Suisse Sport Everest Sleeping Bag

The traditional rectangular design is the most popular shape for sleeping bags, but it isn’t the only option available. With that in mind, this bag is one of the most effective on the market and a great choice if you’re looking for the best budget sleeping bag under $100!

Tops Knives B.O.B. Brothers of Bushcraft Knife with Tan Handle

Number 4 on my list of the best survival knifes under $200 is the Tops Knives B.O.B. Brothers of Bushcraft Knife which is one of the best wilderness knives in the market today and is extremely useful for all survival enthusiasts.

Tops Knives B.O.B. Brothers of Bushcraft Knife

This 10 inches long full tang knife has a Tan canvas Micarta handle with a blade length of 4.5 inches and and blade thickness of 0.1875 inches. This is a great heavy duty knife and I’ve gutted multiple deer with this without any major issue. It’s also performed really well in tasks like cutting tree limbs for shelter or cutting a para cord.

ESEE 6P Black Fixed Blade Knife with Desert Brown Molded Polymer Sheath

And finally, rounding up this list of the Top 5 Survival Knives under 200 is the ESEE 6P Black Fixed Blade Knife. This is one of the best hunting knives I’ve ever used and the 11.75 inch long 1095 high carbon steel knife is a true pleasure to wield in the outdoors.

ESEE 6P Black Fixed Blade Knife

The blade takes up about 5.75 inches of the overall length and is a true survival knife thanks to its ability to perform multiple tasks from chopping to slicing to batoning. There are slight serrations on the top edge of the knife which works well for cutting purposes while the solid handle comes into play while doing chopping tasks.

I did not like the sheath a lot to be honest but it’s not bad overall. You might do well to buy a better sheath just for this knife. The best part about this and all other ESEE knives is the life time warranty and the fact that they’re Made in USA.

One point to note is that while the 1095 is an excellent blade material, it is prone to rusting if not cleaned and cared for properly. What I usually do is clean the blade with some rust preventive oil and this maximises the life of the tool. Don’t overthink on this one; for this price point (about $120), you really can’t go wrong!

Key Features of the ESEE 6P Black Fixed Blade Knife

Best Survival Knife under $100 – Top 5

Gerber StrongArm Fixed Blade Knife

First up on this mega list featuring top survival knives is the Gerber StrongArm Fixed Blade Knife which is one of my choices for the best survival knife under $100. This is a ceramic coated, full tang knife with a 420HC drop point blade.

Gerber StrongArm Fixed Blade Knife

As the name suggests, this is one of the strongest knives out there and with the rugged quality of Gerber, it performs extremely well too. This tool has been designed keeping military survival training in mind and the solid grip on the knife thanks to the diamond textured rubberised handle is a prime example of that. Another example of the same military design is the striking pommel mounted at the handle base which is reminiscent of the kind of tasks needed for a rescue operation.

With a blade length of 4.8 inches and an overall length of 9.8 inches, this knife weighs a total of 7.2 oz and comes equipped with a nylon webbed modular sheath. There are also detachable hoops in case you are carrying a belt and this built in the USA knife also features a snap in MOLLE sheath.

I found that the 420HC stainless steel lent a great edge to the knife and the spine of the blade is also ground to a very effective 90 degree angle which makes it great for combat and piercing tasks. Go ahead and buy this knife and you’ll fall in love with the Gerber quality!

Key Features of the Gerber StrongArm Fixed Blade Knife

  • Overall length of knife – 9.8 inches
  • Blade length – 4.8 inches, drop point blade
  • Handle Length – 5 inches
  • Blade Material – 420 HC stainless steel

Schrade SCHF1 Fixed Blade Knife

Not a lot of people would have heard about this knife or the brand but if you ask survival enthusiasts, this knife will tick a lot of their boxes in the right places. Made from SAE 1070 High Carbon Steel, this partially serrated drop point blade has an overall length of 12.7 inches with a blade length of 7.5 inches.

Schrade SCHF1 Fixed Blade Knife

It’s a rather heavy knife and not one of those cheap “Rambo” knives that are floating in the market these days. The handle uncorks to reveal a screwdriver set and you can replace that with a fire starter kit as well. The pommel is great for driving those tent stakes and the edge retention of the knife is also very good.

I’ve been using this handle knife for about a year now and so far, it’s held up pretty good. You obviously have to take care of things like rusting but overall for a less than $100 budget, this one will do the job.

Key Features of the Schrade SCHF1 Knife

  • Overall length of knife – 12.7 inches
  • Blade length – 7.5 inches, partially serrated, drop point blade
  • Handle Length – 5.2 inches
  • Blade Material – SAE 1070 High Carbon Steel
  • HRC – 57
  • Price – Under $100

KA-BAR BK-10 Becker Crewman Fixed Blade Knife

#3 on my list of the top survival knives under $100 is the Ka-Bar BK-10 Becker Crewman knife and it’s popularity can be judged by the fact that it has received over 100 positive customer reviews on Amazon!

The BK10 is made from 1095 Cro Van steel and comes equipped with a zytel handle and a polymer sheath. The overall length of the knife is 10.875 inches while the blade length is about 5.5 inches. The BK10 is way lighter than the famous BK2 and that’s why it allows for much quicker cutting and slashing movements. If you’re looking for a great bushcraft cum survival knife, then this one should be your priority.

KA-BAR BK-10 Becker Crewman

It’s extremely sharp out of the box and my suggestion to you would be to be extra careful with it. Also, go for the micarta scales options and not the grivory scales option.

The pommel is also very strong and perfect for all hammering and smashing tasks be it rock or nut. Obviously, the BK10 is not a replacement for a machete so don’t expect the world from it when it comes to chopping related tasks. All said and done, it’s a great bushcraft knife to own for less than 100 dollars.

Key Features of the BK10 Becker Crewman

  • Overall length of knife – 10.875 inches
  • Blade length – 5.5 inches
  • Handle Length – 5.275 inches with Zytel handle
  • Blade Material – 1095 Cro Van Steel
  • HRC – 55-57

Cold Steel 38CKJ1 Hunting Fixed Blade Knife

Finishing my list of the best survival knife under $100 is the Cold Steel 38CKJ1 Hunting Fixed Blade Knife. This 10.75 inches long knife has a blade length of 6 inches and a blade thickness of 0.19 inches and has a clipping style blade.

This is one of the best multi-purpose survival cum hunting knives in the market and is extensively used by Navy seals which is a testament to its durability under extreme weather conditions. It works great for all kinds of hacking, cutting, chopping and prying work thanks to the strong VG1 steel and is extremely sharp out of the box.

Cold Steel 38CKJ1 Hunting Fixed Blade Knife

The blade has a good angle grind which is truly appreciated once you’re doing some battening work. The 90 degree back grind is mainly while you’re using ferro rods. The only issue is that the sheath that comes along with this knife is not MOLLE compatible. Also, while the VG1 steel is more durable and harder than normal steel, this means that you need to spend some more time in sharpening it. However, at this price point, it’s a great value for money hunting knife and comes strongly recommended from my end.

Key Features of the Cold Steel 38CKJ1

  • Overall length of knife – 10.75 inches
  • Blade length – 6 inches
  • Handle Length – 4.75 inches, sheath is not MOLLE compatible
  • Blade Material – VG1 steel, highly durable

If you’re looking to perform some basic batoning or fire starting tasks or scraping tinder, then the Morakniv Bushcraft Fixed Blade Knife is perfect for you. Obviously you can’t expect the world when buying a survival knife under $50, but for this price range, it’s real value for money.

MTech USA Xtreme MX-8054 Series Fixed Tanto Blade Tactical Knife

I had never used an MTech knife prior to this so was pleasantly surprised once I tested it out last month and the MTech USA Xtreme MX-8054 did not disappoint at all. Made from 440HC stainless steel, this gold titanium coated tanto blade measures about 5.5 inches long and is an ideal tactical knife that you can carry in survival situations or camping expeditions.

MTech USA Xtreme MX-8054

The grip of the G10 handle is pretty good and does help during wet conditions and the knife also comes along with a black nylon sheath. There is also a lanyard hole at the end which allows you to attach an additional para cord.

There are serrations long the back and spine along with a blood grove which all aid during cutting, notching and chopping tasks. I particularly liked the finger guard which prevent accidental cutting of your own hand and the only complaint I have is that the nylon sheath could definitely be better. All in all, for around $30, this is a great tactical blade to own!

Key Features of the MTech USA Xtreme MX-8054 Knife:

  • Overall length of knife – 11 inches
  • Blade length – 5.5 inches
  • Handle length – 5.5 inches, G10 handle with lanyard hole

Top 5 Brands to Look for when Buying a Survival Knife (1000)

I’ve always been of the view that one should always look at the brand while buying a survival knife because that’s one of the key considerations and factors that should influence any buying decision. Because there are so many knife manufacturers in the market, it does get confusing as to what brand to pick.

That’s why I’ve picked my list of the Top 5 Survival Knife Brands that one can safely bet on along with a little history on the brand and why it’s included in this list.

Gerber

Gerber is one of the oldest knife brands in the market and started off as a small company in 1939 which manufactured cutlery sets. However, by 1960, they had branched out into producing a lot of survival gear and their main products were survival knives.

Even after 70 years, the company founded by Joseph Gerber continues to grow and is considered by many survival enthusiasts as one of the best brands in the industry. Right from knives such as “Magnum Hunter” to the more recent “Gerber Bear Grylls”, any knife from this company represents quality and value for money.

Over the last few years, Gerber has done a lot of advancements in production especially in the USA and hence, more and more American knives are now hitting the shelf with better quality steel blades such as the 154CM steel knives and S30V Gator premium knives.

Buck

Another American manufacturing company, Buck, is among the finest hunting and survival knife brands in the world at the moment. Starting off in San Diego, the company now has their head office in Idaho and has been owned by five generations of the Buck family so far. They’re credited with inventing the folding or half tang knife so much so that originally Buck knives were associated with folding knives!

Buck has produced a great many survival knives for us enthusiasts including the Model 110, 0102, 119BR, 65 Hood Punk and the 501 among many others. I’ve covered the 0102 Woodsman earlier in this article so you’ll know the kind of quality knives this company manufactures. You can definitely put your money into any knife owned by this brand and you’ll not be disappointed.

Cold Steel

Another one of my favourite survival and combat knife manufactures is Cold Steel and almost every survival and outdoor enthusiast is familiar with this name and the quality knives manufactured by this company.

Founded in 1980, the company produces some of the strongest survival blades I’ve ever used and has many innovations to its name. From Krayton handles to tango point style blades, Cold Steel truly manufactures some of the best survival knives in the market as of now.

If you want another proof of the company’s quality, then look no further than the American military and law enforcement agencies where a number of their blades are used in combat and rescue operations. Currently, the company also operates manufacturing plants in Taiwan and Japan – all the Cold Steel knives that use VG1 Stainless Steel are manufactured in Taiwan while the ones that are made from German 4116, 1055 carbon steel etc are manufactured in Japan. Like I said, you can trust Cold Steel knives with your life as they are true value for money and of extremely superior quality!

Ka Bar

Another great brand that I’ve always found producing quality survival tools is Ka Bar and of course, most of you would be familiar with their world famous Ka Bar Becker series of hunting knives, a few of which I’ve chronicled earlier as well.

Ka Bar was the first combat knife adopted by the USMC and the US Navy as their official service knives. When it comes to high quality hunting, combat and military knives, you can trust this name as be absolutely content with your purchase. Established in 1988, each knife undergoes a rigorous manufacturing and QC process before it is brought to the market and these processes include blanking, tang stamping, tempering & grinding, inspection and testing.

A prime example of its superior quality is the Ka Bar USMC knife!

ESEE

An finally, the last brand that I consider as one of the best survival knife manufactures is ESEE. Owned by a parent company called Randall’s Adventure & Training, ESEE is a privately held company operating out of Alabama and is one of the biggest names in the wilderness and outdoor gears industry.

I’ve owned a lot of ESEE knives through the years and some like the ESEE6 and the Junglas remain my favourite to this date. Almost all their survival gear is tested in the jungles of South America and other remote environments before hitting the market which ensures that they are coastal tweaked and worked upon to give you a true survival tool.

Established in 1997 and owned by Jeff Randall & Mike Perrin, ESEE knives carry some of the highest ratings on Amazon and are undoubtably, one of the first brands that you should consider while purchasing a survival knife.

Of course, don’t limit yourself to just these 5 brands listed above; there are a lot of other brands & knives that I have reviewed in this article that are just as good, if not better. However, the whole idea was to let you know you’re getting yourself a quality knife even if you decide to restrict yourself to just these 5 brands!

Closing Thoughts

So there you have it! My mammoth list of the best survival knife for the money is done and dusted and I sure hope you benefit from the detailed reviews listed above. The whole idea of this post has been to segregate survival knives based on budget and then filter out the Top 5 Knives for you to choose from.

Also, because there are so many knives in the market currently and new ones are introduced as well from time to time, I will definitely try and update this list of the top survival knives from time to time. If you feel there’s a particular blade or survival tool that I’ve missed out on and which should have been on this list, do give me a shout out via the contact form here and I will make sure I include your choice.

There’s nothing like cooking over a real gas grill. You can try to cook the same recipe up over an ordinary stovetop but it just won’t be the same. The heat from a good grill works magic, transforming ordinary food into something infinitely more delicious. But you can’t trust your cooking with just any grill, you ned the right one for the job. Whether you’re looking for a grill you can take with you on camping trips or something to use around the home there are too many grills to choose from. We’re here to help.

To write this guide, we looked at the best gas grills under $500 on the market. We examined each option and picked out the best options for experienced grill-masters and aspiring chefs alike. Any of these grills would make a great addition to your cooking arsenal but to help you find the perfect one for your particular needs we’ll look at the three top options and their particular strengths and weaknesses.

1. Char-Broil Professional TRU Infrared 3-Burner Cabinet Gas Grill

This grill has the word Professional in its name, and its design lives up to the title. The sleek silver and black exterior looks like something straight out of a highly modern kitchen.

Getting this is like grabbing the Perfect Grill. The stainless-steel grill is fully equipped with three main burners, a side burner, and an enclosed cabinet. The grill lights up with the push of a button. You can trust every fire to light the right way the first time thanks to Sure-fire Electronic Ignition technology.

Best Gas Grills under $500 - Char-Broil Professional TRU Infrared 3-Burner Cabinet Gas Grill

Anyone who has this grill is cooking with the latest in grill technology. It includes the TRU Infrared Cooking System. This tool is designed to achieve an optimal spread of heat while putting two layers of protection between the mean and the flames. This prevents burning and uneven cooking, ensuring that everything you cook on this grill is done to perfection.

In addition to the three main burners, there is also a lidded side burner. This allows you to prepare side dishes while you’re making the entrée on the main dishes. The covering can also remain in place, so you get double the prep space. We’re recommending the 3-burner model, which comes in well under our $500 budget. But if you’re looking to save even more money you can try their 2-burner option. Just remember that with fewer grills it will take you longer to complete a whole meal.

2. Weber 46110001 Spirit E210 Liquid Propane Gas Grill

Looks can be deceiving. At first glance, this two-burner grill looks like it might not be able to cook much at one time but Weber has packed it with so much power and so many features that you can grill up a whole meal at once. The enclosure is big enough for 20 pounds of meat to fit in at once with room to spare. There’s also a secondary shelf grate that rises above the main burner so you can bake your potatoes while you grill your steak. All in all, this grill packs 450 square inches of cooking potential into one compact, stainless steel package.

Weber 46110001 Spirit E210

The Spirit E210 is designed to help cooks get the most of any meat they cook on this grill. This is shown in the grills unique Favorizer bars and grill management system. As any chef knows it’s all too easy to lose precious flavor from your meat. It drips off when the heat turns up and can be lost between the bars of some grills. Weber noticed this and resigned its bars to grab onto drippings and allow them to cook up and waft back into the meat. Anything left is carefully siphoned off into the grease tray and catch pan where they are safely held. This makes cooking and cleaning as safe and easy as possible.

On top of this, all the grill looks fantastic. The stainless-steel exterior and cast-iron grill are all clearly top of the line. The color scheme is a classic silver and black that would fit in out in your backyard or the kitchen of a five-star restaurant. Standing in front of this monument to the art of grilling will make you feel like a chef even when it isn’t turned on and that’s why this features on my list of the best gas grills under $500!

3. Coleman Road Trip Propane Portable Grill LXE

When shopping for a grill the main thing to consider is how it performs, but it’s also worth getting a grill that looks the part. This is one of the first things you’re bound to notice when looking at Coleman’s Road Trip Grill; it looks like the sort of grill you picture in your head when you hear the word. Its throwback design will bring many cooks back to their childhood. This compact and stylish grill comes in blue, silver, maroon, orange, green, purple, black, and the classic red.

Coleman Road Trip Propane Portable Grill LXE

This grills unique selling point is its portable design. This is a collapsible grill that can be set up and broken down in just four quick steps. It weighs just 44 pounds without propane tank, and with its big wheels and handle it’s easy to roll around. Perfect for camping or any other outdoor cooking you might want to do.

Shoppers first notice the Coleman Road Trip line for its portability and style, but the grill itself is more than powerful enough to get the job done. This grill is perfect for cooking for parties of four people. It has two 10,000 BTU burners for a total of 20,000 BTUS of grilling potential. This power is unleashed every time you hit the Instastart ignition and provides an even cook no matter the temperature outside thanks to Perfect Flow technology. It packs 285 square inches of grill into its compact design. Alongside the grill, you can slide out two side tables for cooking prep.

Coleman has been in the business of making stoves for campers for over 100 years, and this expertise shows in models like the LXE. This grill is the culmination of 100 years of research and design. If you want an affordable, trustworthy, and highly portable grill, then this is a smart choice to make.

Choosing the Perfect Grill:

Every cook is different and deserves a grill that will fit their needs. To choose the perfect grill, there are a few questions you need to ask. The first is how many things you’ll need to cook at one time. If you plan on regularly cooking for a large family or parties, then a bigger grill like the Professional TRU Infrared 3-Burner Cabinet Gas Grill from Char-Broil is the way to go. Style is another thing to think about, if you want a more old-school, nostalgic look, then the Coleman Road Trip Propane Portable Grill LXE is a sure bet. To get every drop of flavor from your meat, the Spirit E-210 LP Gas Grill from Weber is one delicious design.
